One of my favorite things about my job is reconnecting with old friends & acquaintances and being asked to document their engagement & wedding day! As the years go by, more and more of my friends are hitting “marrying age”. This year I am photographing so many friends from high school & public that I lost touch with (gotta love facebook!), siblings of friends and even my exboyfriend’s wedding!
Travis is the younger brother of my friend Dustin, who was one of my best friends in high school. When he contacted me about photographing his upcoming wedding to Terra, I was delighted. Travis has always had an artistic side – playing in local bands and being a graphic designer so I knew I would have a lot of fun being creative with this couple!
I was so excited about our shoot at the Western Fair and LOVE how it turned out… you’d never know that it was actually cut short and we were only getting started as we wanted to capture the lights after sunset as well. About 3/4 of the way through our shoot, my hubby called me in a panic as Iris was completely hysterically and he couldn’t calm her down (I’m thinking it was her first tooth that had starting coming in a couple days before). We rushed home, snapping the last shot in this post (of them kissing by the swing) on our way out of the fair. I ran inside to my screaming baby and got to nursing her right away. The nursing calmed her down but she was still shaking and whimpering from being so upset hours later! Poor baby! Luckily, that’s the first and last time I’ve ever had to leave a shoot! Even though we got some great shots at the fair, we’re still going to do another mini shoot in the spring to finish up – can’t wait!

LOVE this shot… the guy looking at them in the bottom right makes it, as us photographers would say “the decisive moment”!
