Rita & Trevor
London Ontario Wedding

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Intimate, romantic, simple and fun!

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: I loved our tea ceremony. I come from a pretty stoic, Taiwanese family and I don't always get the opportunity to tell my parents how much I appreciate them. It was the perfect heartfelt moment. Also, it was pretty hilarious to see what tasks my bridesmaids had planned for Trev so that he may "earn the right" to see and marry me.
Groom: Getting married! I loved our ceremonies! Oh, and running away from the fire trucks to get our picture taken in front of the End of the World sign was hilarious!

Best wedding related decision: Our best wedding related decision was deciding to go with Heather. We were so busy with school and didn't have time to research vendors. Heather is an amazing resource we leaned on through out this planning process. Thanks Heather for helping us find such wonderful and accommodating vendors!

Favourite detail:The beautiful floral arrangements by Samirah

Advice for future brides & grooms: Relax, plan loosely and have a wonderful day.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?: We loved our day and wouldn't change anything about it.

Best surprise of the day: The loving speeches and well wishes we received at dinner time.

Jackie & Russ
{Spencer Hall Wedding}

About a year ago, on the same day I received 3 inquiries for the same date and all 3 couples wanted to meet on the same day! Yikes! I thought to myself, well they can't all want to book me so I'll meet with everyone and see how it goes... well, they ALL wanted to book me and I felt awful because of course I could only book one couple. I decided it was only fair to book the couple that had emailed me first.... lets just say that I'm very glad that Jackie and Russ were that first couple as I absolutely adored them from the moment I met them and couldn't imagine not shooting their wedding! From start to finish everything about their big day was perfect! Beautiful couple, loving family, fun wedding party - a dream!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Classic, fun, and relaxed

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Standing back with Russ and watching all of our family and friends during the cocktail hour - it was so amazing to have almost all of the most important people in our lives together at one time!
Groom: Standing with friends and family watching Jackie walk down the aisle.

Best wedding related decision: HRM Photography and Rick McGhie to play the ceremony and cocktail hour!

Favourite detail: The beautiful flowers - the colours looked so perfect for Spring against the green grass.

Advice for future brides & grooms: Take a few moments together throughout the day to take a mental snapshot. The whole day went by like a whirlwind and it's hard to remember all the details!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Everything was perfect, but I would worry a little less about all the little details!

Best surprise of the day: Beautiful jewelry from Russ, and the wonderful speeches from our family.

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?):
#433 of us with the whole wedding party. Everyone just looks relaxed, and like themselves!
#770 of Russ and I listening to the speeches after dinner. It reminds us of how happy we were, and how much fun the entire day was!

Maya & Matt
Toronto Ontario Old Mill Wedding

Maya is a close friend of my cousin's that I have known for many years and it was a real treat to there to photograph her big day! I loved how she kept things simple but still oh so elegant and fun! This couple has been together for a very long time and it was amazing to see how no matter what was going on, the second they looked at each other they both just relaxed!  Congrats Maya & Matt!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Simplicity: Friends, food, fun!

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day? Looking out during our speeches to see a room full of our favourite people. Nothing compares to that moment (oh, and for me, the bride: seeing the groom at the end of the aisle, my very best friend waiting for me. I was instantly at ease). smile

Best wedding related decision: Hiring the St. Royals! They were fantastic. The dance room was packed all night long and the full band made for such an amazing atmosphere!

Favourite detail: The beautiful gifts my mom handmade for everyone.

Advice for future brides & grooms: For the happy couple: make sure to make the wedding your own. It's your day.   For brides: EAT!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Yes, just one small thing... I would have forced myself to eat something. smile (Note from Heather: I second this advice! I didn't eat anything on my wedding day either and lets just say a lot of wine + nerves + no food is a bad mix! You crash hard, early!)

Best surprise of the day: The weather! The skies opened up beautifully right for our ceremony and the rain didn't come crashing down until the very end of the night. Thanks nature!

Anything else you'd like to add: A HUGE thank you to HRM photography for capturing our day so beautifully! We couldn't have asked for more!

VENDORS: Ceremony Location: Old Mill Inn (Toronto) | Reception Location: Old Mill Inn (Toronto)  | Officiant (if not a church ceremony) - Rev. Trimble at the Old Mill. He was fantastic! | Cake: Dufflets... with beautiful polka dots that matched our invites.  | Dress (designer and/or store): Pronovias from Beckers. | Hair/Makeup: Makeup - Melissa DeBartelo... amazing! | DJ: The St. Royals (live band - amazing!)

My family (by blood and by choice!) Lindsay photographed all my cousin's weddings (on the left) and will be photographing my good friends Ian & Amanda's wedding (on right) in July!

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): 275 is my absolutely favourite shot of us that day. It perfectly captures just how happy we were.  As the bride, my personal favourite is 438. It is the most perfect picture of my incredible groom, so handsome and happy; how I love this man! (below)

My cousin Kate and her friend Amanda made all the fabulous fascinators worn in the photo below!

Awesome wedding band - the St. Royals!
