Without a doubt, the question we get asked most often is “when will my wedding pictures be ready?” It’s often assumed that with digital technology images should be available instantly, however as each image we take receives individual editing the process takes some time.

Our turnaround time for proofs is 4-8 weeks depending on time of year. We always try to get photos processed as soon as possible but at the height of wedding season you’re looking at closer to 8 weeks. We promise that as soon as your proofs are ready we will contact you and that your pictures will be worth the wait! Often, we’ll send you a sneak peek and/or post images in our facebook group to tide you over until the whole set is complete.

Turnaround for engagement proofs is about 4 weeks, if you would like to display engagement photos at your wedding, we recommend booking your shoot at least 8 weeks before your wedding.

Reprint orders take 2-4 weeks, parent albums take 4-8 weeks. Bridal albums can take anywhere between 2-6 months depending on size of order/customization/retouching and when in our season the order is received (bridal album orders received in June will have a longer wait time that ones received in February!). Allow 8 weeks for engagement signing books. Rush services can be requested for an additional fee and are available depending on our lab’s current workload. Classic thank you cards (slip in style) take 1-2 weeks and customized, graphic design style cards take 2-4 weeks including design time.

OUR HOLIDAY ORDER DEADLINES are as follows:
Coffee table albums (bridal & parent) – photo choices by September 15th, design approved by October 15th
Classic style albums (bridal & parent): October 15th
Custom thank you cards, proof albums & canvas prints: November 1st
Custom Prints (4×6 / 5×7 / 8×10 / 11×14): Nov 15th

These deadlines will ensure that orders are available for pickup the week of December 21st. If you require your order BEFORE December 21st please specify when ordering.

Cheers,
Heather

I would like to remind our clients that all meetings / drop offs / pickups to myself or Lindsay are by appointment only. We work from home and as a courtesy to both us and our families we hope that our clients will appreciate this request.

Please call or email to make an appointment if you would like to meet with us or drop off / pick up anything. We are able to answer emails any time of the day, and usually answer the phone from 10am-7pm Monday-Thursday, and Fridays if we do not have a wedding scheduled. Especially during wedding season, weekend meetings can be difficult to arrange but we always do our best to accommodate our clients schedules!

Thank you for your understanding!

Cheers,
Heather

Hello blog readers! I’ve decided that I’m going to start posting answers to frequently asked questions on our blog… here’s the first!

As we advertise photography in both London & Toronto, quite often Lindsay or I get asked to photograph weddings in the opposite city of which we live in. To clear things up, I (Heather) live in London, Ontario and Lindsay lives in Toronto.

We love to travel and are available outside of the cities in which we live, but of course there are fees involved: transportation, time, meals, accommodation. Our travel fee is generally $75 per hour of travel. As we receive so many referrals from both our Toronto or London brides, we have a flat travel fee for these cities. The travel fee for Heather to photograph a wedding in Toronto OR for Lindsay to photograph a wedding in London is $200. Most out of town bookings have to be secured over email / phone correspondence – with our busy schedules it can be hard to arrange meetings out of town, but if possible we always prefer to do our consultations in person!

Although we love to photograph weddings together and do so every opportunity we get, living in different cities and being so booked up it’s getting harder and harder to be able to do so! If one of us happens to have a wedding on a day where the other is not booked, the other will try to come along as the second shooter but most often this just isn’t possible. Depending on availability, if you would like to guarantee Heather or Lindsay as your second shooter, the fee is $175/hour + applicable travel fees.

We do always bring along an assistant / second shooter (included in your package price)…. Niki, Alison & Julie are our regular assistants. We hire assistants based on their portfolios, experience, technical knowledge, personality and professionalism… don’t worry, we’re not going to bring along just anyone to shoot your wedding with us! New assistants start out shadowing us on engagement shoots, then as a 3rd assistant at receptions (with the client’s permission – our job at a wedding is to take great photos not to train employees!).

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers,
Heather
