This past Saturday I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of my associate photographer and dear friend Lindsay’s wedding! I can’t even begin to express how happy I am that her and Matt have finally tied the knot – it’s the icing on the cake for their lovely little family! Over the past 6 or so years, not only have Lindsay and I photographed hundreds of weddings together, we’ve also become extremely close  and I consider her to be one of my very best friends. There have been days where we’ve literally called each other 20+ times before noon – not just to talk photography but everything else under the sun. We finish each others sentences, we love to have dance parties (which are now fueled by yo gabba gabba instead of gin) and we drive our husbands nuts talking about weddings all the time.  On Saturday it was finally her turn to walk down the aisle and I can’t remember the last time I smiled so much! Lindsay, thank you so much for asking me to document such an important day for you – and also for insisting that Eric and I stay and enjoy the party with you and your hubby. I haven’t drank that much wine since before I was pregnant with Iris…  I loved every minute of it (not so much my pounding head yesterday though)! Here are a few sneak peeks, many many more to come!

Many years later, the Ring has grown and evolved – they publish an amazing wedding magazine twice a year, host “the Bride’s Ball” -  a fantastic excuse to put on your wedding dress again and raise money for great causes. This year they launched a redesigned website with new features designed to create a social networking site for brides and vendors. You’re able to create a profile, add favorites & friends – it’s so much fun!

When planning my own London, Ontario wedding, I found that so many Canadian wedding sites catered only to Toronto vendors – I love the ring because they have separate sections for all of South Western Ontario so brides from London, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Huron County and Toronto can all find great vendors from their own cities!

The Wedding Ring is a great resource for both brides & wedding vendors and if you haven’t already, I encourage you to go check it out!

I am happy to announce that we will FINALLY be getting married next spring (with an adorable ring-bearer named Connor…and a fantastic wedding photographer named Heather!)

December 23rd was definitely the most incredible day of my life. After 9 relatively easy hours of labour, we finally got to meet our beautiful son Connor Gabriel Ross. Thinking back to that day brings me to tears. I have always known that I was meant to be a mother and I just feel so complete. Parenthood is definitely a whole new world, but Matt and I are enjoying each second with Connor. We literally sit and watch him in amazement for hours and talk about how beautiful he is (this has really cut down on our monthly entertainment budget!).As you can imagine, Connor is a very well photographed little boy. I am always thinking of new ideas for photos and ways to capture him as he changes and grows before our eyes. This is also good practice for all of the newborn sessions I have coming up this year!

I want to thank all of my HRM clients for their kind emails. It is so nice to have your support as Heather and I transition into Mommies. We definitely feel blessed to have such a wonderful job that allows us to be creative and still have time to spend with our little ones. Stay tuned for more photos of Connor…and before long we will find out who has been cooking in Heather’s belly for the past 9 months!
