I had every intention of putting up a full blog post of all the fabulous photos that my awesome photographers (Anna Lamond and fabulous HRM associate photographer Lindsay) took but between trying to celebrate my 30th bday (Tuesday), our anniversary and photographing 3.5 weddings this weekend it just hasn’t been possible. Here are just a few of my fave shots that Lindsay took on my wedding day (and oh so soon I will get to share on the blog the photos from Lindsay’s wedding when I finally got to repay the favor!)

What better way to break in my new natural light studio than to let 10 babies, aged 8-12 months run wild and eat cupcakes in it!! While taking pre natal yoga & aquafit through Blossom Fitness (fantastic pre natal fitness classes in London, Ontario – highly recommended for any expectant mother!)  I met a great group of ladies and we’ve stayed in touch throughout our baby’s first year. To celebrate their birthdays, we had a little get together at my studio – so much fun! My little Iris is the one with the red bow in her hair – she sat on her cupcake and wasn’t too happy about it!

This past Saturday I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of my associate photographer and dear friend Lindsay’s wedding! I can’t even begin to express how happy I am that her and Matt have finally tied the knot – it’s the icing on the cake for their lovely little family! Over the past 6 or so years, not only have Lindsay and I photographed hundreds of weddings together, we’ve also become extremely close  and I consider her to be one of my very best friends. There have been days where we’ve literally called each other 20+ times before noon – not just to talk photography but everything else under the sun. We finish each others sentences, we love to have dance parties (which are now fueled by yo gabba gabba instead of gin) and we drive our husbands nuts talking about weddings all the time.  On Saturday it was finally her turn to walk down the aisle and I can’t remember the last time I smiled so much! Lindsay, thank you so much for asking me to document such an important day for you – and also for insisting that Eric and I stay and enjoy the party with you and your hubby. I haven’t drank that much wine since before I was pregnant with Iris…  I loved every minute of it (not so much my pounding head yesterday though)! Here are a few sneak peeks, many many more to come!

My beautiful baby girl turned ONE on Sunday… I can’t believe it’s been a year since she was born! She’s the most incredible thing to ever happen to me and I love her more and more every day! Just wanted to share this collage of photos from her first year. Every month on the 21st I take a photo of her… and I hope to keep it up for as long as she’ll let me. Here’s a whole year of my beautiful Iris… birthday photos to follow!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas & holiday season!!! It’s been a crazy year and I can’t wait for 2010 to start… our long time assistant Niki will be moving to London in January to be my full time office manager  (which will be speeding up turnaround time significantly, thank goodness) we’ll have indoor shooting space for families/babies/boudoir sessions and with any luck Iris won’t be breastfeeding 20 times a day! Thanks to all our amazing clients for their business this year as well as understanding & support as Lindsay and I both adjusted to mommyhood. We still have so many amazing 2009 weddings & portraits to share on the blog  but I’m going to take the next few days off to enjoy Iris’ first Christmas!

I feel so blessed that my Gramma got to meet her first and only great-grandchild this year. Iris Ruth, like me (Heather Ruth) and my mom (Brenda Ruth) was namesake to my Gramma Eleanor Ruth. Here’s a photo of all the “Ruthies” together taken on my Gramma’s 88th birthday in July.

If you have already placed a holiday order, don’t worry you’ll still have it in time for the holidays. If you are waiting for your images to be posted I hope to have all portraits taken in October ready early next week and weddings soon to follow. Happy Halloween from little lamby Iris and Connor the froggie!! Our mommies are swamped with Christmas orders, the last few weddings of the season (only 6 left!) and fall portrait sessions… the blog will get some more attention next week! Have a great weekend everyone!

Oooooh baby do I love my little girl! Iris is growing so fast I can’t even believe it! Pretty in pink at 4 months old!  Summer is just flying by and all of our weddings so far have been fantastic. I’m trying not to slack on the blog but quite honestly some days it’s a challenge getting a shower in let alone answering emails, editing photos,designing albums, etc. Wedding days are the easy ones because we get to leave the house!! Being a working mom isn’t the easiest thing to do, but I’m trying my best and again have to thank all our clients for being so awesome and understanding as both Lindsay and I adjust to mommyhood. Lots more photos to come on the blog soon, as for the writeups for the posts, ask Iris about giving me time for that!
