This was photo date number 3 for Katherine, Mark and their beautiful baby girl Charlie. A lot has changed since their maternity and newborn sessions…Charlie can sit, has lots of hair and is full of personality and smiles! I am looking forward to seeing them again for the first birthday session!

The morning of Sarah & Mike’s wedding as Kerri and I were driving to Burlington the sky seemed to be turning a very ominous shade of blue and as we approached the hotel we started noticing large fallen branches…uh oh! There were severe wind and tornado warnings, but that wasn’t going to stop us!

I don’t think that Sarah and Mike (or anyone) stopped smiling throughout the entire day. We had a blast with the wedding party (especially the groomsman who split his pants because he was so into our fun poses!)

I am starting to think that extreme weather conditions can bring out the best in a wedding… definitely makes for unique and memorable photos.

Jennifer and Ryan live in London and  booked me for their wedding photography but we hadn’t yet had the chance to meet. The engagement session was a great way to get to know this adorable couple before their big day.

I love hearing proposal stories and how couples found each other….Jennifer and Ryan had a great story and we even took a few photos in the very cafe where they first met and had their first date.

I can’t wait to see them again in September!

I have had the pleasure of getting to know “Cousin Kate” through Heather over the past 6 years and she is one beautifully funny lady. As long as I have known Kate, she has also been waiting for  her fella Kirby to finally pop the question so that they could celebrate their love. They are such a perfect match and I am soooo happy that they finally tied the knot!

My favourite moment of the day was arriving at Kate’s hotel room to capture her buzzing around the room while she was getting ready. It was a little surreal and I was still on a wedding high from my own wedding just two weeks earlier.

This was such a fantastic wedding and I was so honoured to photograph all of the little (and big) moments. It was especially nice to see Heather in party mode with her family as well.

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Timeless love

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?

Bride: It’s so hard to choose; the whole day was just… perfect!  I guess I’d have to say that my most favourite memory of the day was the moment I walked in to the ceremony and saw my fella standing at the top of the aisle waiting for me.  Of all the moments that I had looked forward to about my wedding day, that was at the top of my list!  What made it EXTRA special was to have my Mother walk me down the aisle and get to share the moment from the same vantage point as me.
Groom: Hands down, when Kate was walking down the aisle with her Mum.  Waiting for her to walk in the room felt like FOREVER, but the moment I saw her, I knew that the rest of the day would be fantastic!

Best wedding related purchase: Our lovebird wedding cake (as well as the miniature one that we presented to his parents to celebrate their 40^th wedding anniversary)

Favourite detail: Surprising his parents with an official letter from their local counselor congratulating them on their 40^th wedding anniversary (which happened to be on the same day of our wedding!)  Dad’s a man of few words, so when he took to the microphone and did an impromptu and heartfelt speech, you could’ve heard a pin drop in the room!

Advice for future brides & grooms: Make sure to take a moment to step back, breath, and take in every detail, but most importantly, EAT SOMETHING!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? I would have taken more time to write my wedding speech and would have remembered to thank my uber talented Cousin, Sarah, for the amazing water colour painting she created for us for the front of our invitations!

Best surprise of the day: When one of my best friends, Emilie Claire-Barlow, took to the microphone to sing a song that her Mum wrote that was inspired by the day that Kirby proposed.

Lianne and Gary are so much fun to be around! I don’t think that there is a minute in the day that this pair doesn’t enjoy spending together. I left the engagement session even more excited about their upcoming wedding (which I can now say was fabulous!)

Liz & Neil are familiar faces on our blog… Lindsay has done many photo session for them over the years. When Liz emailed us to let us know she was expecting we were so excited, and apparently she was very excited to let us know – after their families, we were the first to hear the news! Although I feel that I know them seeing them in so many photos, I’ve only met Liz briefly when I dropped of her wedding album. As a little bonus, I decided to tag along with Lindsay to their maternity session. I’m so glad I did – it takes a pretty dedicated pregnant woman to climb a tree for the sake of great photos!

Oceana is one! I have had such a great time photographing Oceana and her parents over the past year. It is amazing to see how much little ones grow and change over their first year and these photos will be such a nice reminder for Larina and Angel when their little girl is all grown up.

Gail and Ka-Ming are friends of Colleen and Jeff whose wedding I photographed last summer.  I always love meeting future clients at weddings and was happy to hear that Ka-Ming had finally popped the question after dating Gail for over a decade!

There were so many personal touches throughout the wedding day that really made this a special event.  Gail and her friends folded 1000 paper cranes, family friends made the flowers, balloons and the wedding cake was made by the groom himself!

I had every intention of putting up a full blog post of all the fabulous photos that my awesome photographers (Anna Lamond and fabulous HRM associate photographer Lindsay) took but between trying to celebrate my 30th bday (Tuesday), our anniversary and photographing 3.5 weddings this weekend it just hasn’t been possible.
