Dana and Tom will be getting married Thanksgiving weekend, so we chose the springtime as a nice contrast for their engagement photos. Our first attempt at this session was interupted by rain & wind (but we still managed to get some cherry blossom shots!) and our second was absolutely perfect! Can’t wait for their wedding!

What a fun wedding! I teamed up with Photography by Yvonne to capture Pam & Dave’s fabulous wedding day! Yvonne took the lead on this one, allowing me to be more of a second shooter for a nice change (and great warm up to start off my 2010 wedding season). Even though I was “second shooter”, Pam & Dave were such fantastic subjects I still seemed to take almost as many photos as I would at a wedding of my own!  Here are just a few of the images I took throughout the day. I’ll leave the rest of the story for our lovely bride to tell…

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Elegant & Classy

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Seeing my best friend waiting for me at the end of the isle.
Groom: Seeing Pam at the church.

Best wedding related purchase: My dress. It was exactly what I was looking for. It was the first one I tried on. I remember looking at myself in the mirror in the change room and my hands started to shake… I knew it was “the  one”.

Favourite detail: The Birdcage veil made for me by my mother.

Advice for future brides & grooms: Enjoy every second and don’t stess about the little things.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?  Absolutely nothing!!

Best surprise of the day: The priest sat us in the church so we could see all of our guests. I think that was the best part… seeing all of our family and friends there celebrating with us.

WEDDING SONGS:  First Dance – Frozen Ghost/Dream Come True

Kristi and Lindsey are a fantastic couple, referred to me by the fab Sandra & Darren (thanks guys!). We met at the Starbucks where they went on their first (blind) date and wandered around the area chatting about how they spent that first date and their wedding plans. A friend of theirs works at the Flatiron Building and we were lucky to be allowed in to take a few photos! These two were married on June 26th, 2010 and I can’t wait to share their amazing wedding photos soon!

Lianne and Gary are so much fun to be around! I don’t think that there is a minute in the day that this pair doesn’t enjoy spending together. I left the engagement session even more excited about their upcoming wedding (which I can now say was fabulous!)

Yorkville is so beautiful in the spring! I had a lovely afternoon walking through the streets of Yorkville with Krysia & Chris. They brought lots of cute ideas with them to this session and wore the perfect outfits – we love when couples dress up a little bit for their e-session!

To celebrate the end of the school year and document the 2009-2010 UWO Student Council, we did a fun photo shoot on the grounds of UWO. This year’s student council’s big project was getting a patio at “the Wave”, the bar/restaurant at the student center! I’m sure their fellow students were very happy with this so we made sure to start our photo shoot there.

Carolyn from In Bloom Photography contacted me to do some new headshots for her website… I’m always happy to help out another photographer and suggested instead of paying for a session with me, we do a photo trade! She got some great headshots and I got some lovely photos of my family amongst the magnolia blooms. Thanks Carolyn – it was so nice to meet you!

A funny outtake with Iris!

I loved shooting Lake & Mike’s engagement photos this spring and can’t wait for their wedding which is coming up so soon! Judging from how much fun we had at their engagement session I know it’s going to be a great day! Just another couple of weeks to go!

The grand finale to Lindsay’s wedding day coverage…. her super fun “photo booth”! This is the first time we’ve done a set up like this and it was oh-so-much fun!
