Groom: Having our friends and family all party together - including my Grandma, who partied like it's 1946!  Best wedding related decision: Our venue - the Royal Canadian Yacht Club on the Toronto Islands  Favourite detail: The Japanese fans for our guests at the church - it was a hot day!  Advice for future brides & grooms: Figure out what's really important to you, then spend your time, energy and your money on these things. I didn't get to speak to every guest that came to the wedding. We should have thought of a receiving line. We should have explained what the party favors were. They were Japanese curtains used for doorways. Instead of one wedding cake, we had a dessert table full of variety. It was too good, we should have had more of everything! Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? There isn't really anything that we would do differently. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! They were so well written and were all so heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly funny. We really appreciated the work that went into them and all of their kind words are definitely unforgettable. Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): The group shot of everyone in the museum after the ceremony is definitely a favorite. I just really wanted to be able to capture the moment of everyone being there to celebrate with us. I'm glad we were able to fit everyone in! It always feels like an adventure hopping on the ferry to head out of the city and even with a little rain, the day was perfection. Groom: Having our friends and family all party together - including my Grandma, who partied like it's 1946!  Best wedding related decision: Our venue - the Royal Canadian Yacht Club on the Toronto Islands  Favourite detail: The Japanese fans for our guests at the church - it was a hot day!  Advice for future brides & grooms: Figure out what's really important to you, then spend your time, energy and your money on these things. I didn't get to speak to every guest that came to the wedding. We should have thought of a receiving line. We should have explained what the party favors were. Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? There isn't really anything that we would do differently. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! They were so well written and were all so heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly funny. We really appreciated the work that went into them and all of their kind words are definitely unforgettable. I just really wanted to be able to capture the moment of everyone being there to celebrate with us. I'm glad we were able to fit everyone in! Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? There isn't really anything that we would do differently. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! They were so well written and were all so heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly funny. We really appreciated the work that went into them and all of their kind words are definitely unforgettable. Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): The group shot of everyone in the museum after the ceremony is definitely a favorite. I just really wanted to be able to capture the moment of everyone being there to celebrate with us. I'm glad we were able to fit everyone in! But to be honest, there are so many amazing pictures it's hard to pick just one that was our favorite. Bride: Our ceremony at the outdoor chapel in front of our nearest and dearest. Groom: The first time I saw Michelle walk down the aisle. Absolutely stunning, hot! Best wedding related decision: Booking at the Ancaster Mill, the venue is gorgeous, food was simply delectable and we had so much fun! Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? There isn't really anything that we would do differently. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! They were so well written and were all so heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly funny. We really appreciated the work that went into them and all of their kind words are definitely unforgettable. I just really wanted to be able to capture the moment of everyone being there to celebrate with us. I'm glad we were able to fit everyone in! It always feels like an adventure hopping on the ferry to head out of the city and even with a little rain, the day was perfection. There were so many gorgeous details including Rino's spectacular dress and shoes. We also loved the Canadian & Japanese elements that tied everything together. -Lindsay Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Biggest party with loved ones.  What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?  Bride:My brother singing at the church ceremony, our tango first dance, and our friends singing karaoke as the music for our wedding slideshow. Groom: Having our friends and family all party together - including my Grandma, who partied like it's 1946!  Best wedding related decision: Our venue - the Royal Canadian Yacht Club on the Toronto Islands  Favourite detail: The Japanese fans for our guests at the church - it was a hot day!  Advice for future brides & grooms: Figure out what's really important to you, then spend your time, energy and your money on these things. I didn't get to speak to every guest that came to the wedding. We should have thought of a receiving line. We should have explained what the party favors were. They were Japanese curtains used for doorways. Instead of one wedding cake, we had a dessert table full of variety. It was too good, we should have had more of everything! Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? There isn't really anything that we would do differently. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! They were so well written and were all so heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly funny. We really appreciated the work that went into them and all of their kind words are definitely unforgettable. Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): The group shot of everyone in the museum after the ceremony is definitely a favorite. I just really wanted to be able to capture the moment of everyone being there to celebrate with us. I'm glad we were able to fit everyone in! But to be honest, there are so many amazing pictures it's hard to pick just one that was our favorite. Anything else you'd like to add: Our day couldn't have been possible without all of our amazing vendors. We want to give a huge thank you and shout out to Russel Rossini. He really went over and above our expectations and really was a dream to work with. Nicole, from Auberge du Petit Prince, did an absolutely amazing job with both cakes and really captured exactly what we were looking for. There were some surprises throughout the day like torrential rain and a spectacular surprise salsa dance from the new happy couple. Bride: Our ceremony at the outdoor chapel in front of our nearest and dearest. Groom: The first time I saw Michelle walk down the aisle. Absolutely stunning, hot! Best wedding related decision: Booking at the Ancaster Mill, the venue is gorgeous, food was simply delectable and we had so much fun! Favourite detail: Our wedding cake was simply perfect... incorporating our colours and the cake topper she created was so us!!! Advice for future brides & grooms: Do the things that are most important to you and try no to get into the details: Ie Costly items that don't matter too much in the end. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! I just really wanted to be able to capture the moment of everyone being there to celebrate with us. I'm glad we were able to fit everyone in! Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? There isn't really anything that we would do differently. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! They were so well written and were all so heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly funny. We really appreciated the work that went into them and all of their kind words are definitely unforgettable. Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): The group shot of everyone in the museum after the ceremony is definitely a favorite. I just really wanted to be able to capture the moment of everyone being there to celebrate with us. I'm glad we were able to fit everyone in! But to be honest, there are so many amazing pictures it's hard to pick just one that was our favorite. Advice for future brides & grooms: Do the things that are most important to you and try no to get into the details: Ie Costly items that don't matter too much in the end. Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? There isn't really anything that we would do differently. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! They were so well written and were all so heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly funny. We really appreciated the work that went into them and all of their kind words are definitely unforgettable. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Bride:  my new husband surprising me by singing to me at the reception and the 'reveal' with the kids was great fun! Groom:  the ceremony and how beautiful the bride looked Best wedding related decisions: having our kids as our wedding party and taking pictures before the ceremony; and of course having HRM Photography do our photos! Favourite details:  the personalized M & M's and the photo of Marty's parents included as part of the decor Advice for future brides & grooms: don't get uptight over things you can't control...you'll be married by the end of the day anyway, which is the ultimate goal! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?  Marty would make sure that his sons were completely ready to go before picking them up, rather than getting dressed at the hotel, to avoid a 'missing shoes' emergency; other than that, we wouldn't change a thing....the day was great! Best surprise of the day: after pouring rain all day, it stopped just when we started taking pictures! Favorite HRM pictures from the day (and why?):  there are lots that are fabulous, but the stand outs are #531 the night shot in front of the Estate - we just love that it shows the whole house and the back lighting is gorgeous, #360 on the pathway - a beautiful, intimate shot, and #231 - the 'gang' - we all had a great time 'playing' together during the photos and this just shows that. Bride: It was such a great day but I think that being able to celebrate with my 90 year old Grandmother was definitely a highlight for me. Of course, celebrating with all of my family and friends was also fantastic! Groom: Seeing Laura for the first time and having that moment all to ourselves. Being able to celebrate with my friends who came from all over Canada just for the weekend. Best wedding related decision:  Having Hannes and his groomsmen in their Navy uniforms. Also, incorporating some Naval wedding traditions for example, the Sword Arch. This really made for something new and exciting for us as well as for our guests. Favourite detail: Having the photo booth was my favorite thing! I think that I went in around 30 times with someone different every single time. Advice for future brides & grooms: Try to relax and really enjoy the day. It goes by so quickly so make sure that you are taking the time to appreciate all of your hard work! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? There isn't really anything that we would do differently. We had beautiful weather, everyone was in great spirits, and every detail really came together for such a wonderful day. Best surprise of the day: All of the speeches were such a great surprise! They were so well written and were all so heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly funny. We really appreciated the work that went into them and all of their kind words are definitely unforgettable. Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): The group shot of everyone in the museum after the ceremony is definitely a favorite. I just really wanted to be able to capture the moment of everyone being there to celebrate with us. I'm glad we were able to fit everyone in! But to be honest, there are so many amazing pictures it's hard to pick just one that was our favorite. Anything else you'd like to add: Our day couldn't have been possible without all of our amazing vendors. We want to give a huge thank you and shout out to Russel Rossini. He really went over and above our expectations and really was a dream to work with. Nicole, from Auberge du Petit Prince, did an absolutely amazing job with both cakes and really captured exactly what we were looking for. Of course, we cannot forget our amazing photographers Heather and Niki. You ladies were so much fun and really kept us on schedule and even made us look great in the pictures! What are you favorite memories of your wedding day? Bride: Walking down the aisle with my Dad,   and seeing the look on JT's face. Having all of our closest friends and family together from near and far. I felt incredibly lucky. Dancing the night away with our amazing friends and family. What a blast. Groom:  Seeing Jen walk down the aisle, shaking her Dad's hand, and having all of our favorite people in the same place on our special day. Best wedding related decision: Hiring HRM, without a doubt.  And, having flip flops for the dance floor! Favourite detail: Our wedding tree, which guests stamped and signed is a great memory from the day. Advice for future brides & grooms: At first we were reluctant to take pictures together before the wedding, but it was a great decision. We felt even more relaxed after spending some time just the two of us before the ceremony. Plus, we got to enjoy a bit of cocktail hour! Would you change anything if you could do it all over again?  I can't think of anything I would really change! Best surprise of the day: Flowers at the hair salon in the morning from my sweetie.
