Dana + Jason
{Bellamere Winery London Ontario Wedding Photography}

Dana & Jason had a picture perfect wedding at Bellamere Winery! Everything about this wedding was so beautiful and we loved photographing it!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Rustic Elegance

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: It is hard to pick favourites, the whole day was amazing. I loved getting ready with the girls in the morning, and seeing Jason as I walked toward him down the isle. I also loved how our officiant shared the things we love about each other in our ceremony, It made it feel much more personal.
Groom: The whole day was perfect, from the weather to the setup and atmosphere. Dana was stunning as always ... I tried my best to compete, but I was no match. The speeches, ceremony, and party had a good amount of "funny" mixed with the love. Tough to pick a top moment because it was all so great.

Best wedding related decision: Hiring the perfect team of vendors. Our venue was stunning and our day wouldn't have been the same without HRM. Heather kept our day on track and captured it more beautifully than we could have imagined.

Favourite detail: We loved the mirrored seating chart and welcome sign as it was something we worked on together before the wedding with the help of Jason's mom.

Advice for future brides & grooms: Finish writing your speech before 2 am the night before the wedding haha. In all seriousness just try and take in every moment of the day, it honestly goes by so quickly. We went out to take some night time photos with HRM and it was the perfect moment to be alone with Jason to unwind and take in the whole day together.

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? The day was pretty perfect, the only regret I have is not being able to finish my meal and not eating the late night poutine haha. The adrenaline really affected our appetites.

Best surprise of the day: We loved all of the speeches, everyone was so well spoken and it was so great to share old stories. My parent's even played a song I recorded when I was 17 which Jason and I danced to.

Christine + Max
{Windermere Manor London Ontario Wedding Photography}

This wedding made the news, as just days before it was set to happen Christine & Max were stranded in Texas following Hurricane Harvey! Luckily, with just 36 hours to spare they made it home and had a beautiful celebration! Christine's dress was so unique & beautiful - I loved the art deco style they brought to the day!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Elegant Art Deco

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: The elation that occurred after our ceremony. After so long and such chaos getting there (that day, the week leading up to it, and much of our time together in general), it was a little bit shocking that it actually happened, and we were (and are still) so happy to have done it.
Groom: Pictures with Christine and I on our own

Best wedding related decision: To have everything on site.

Favourite detail: The hint of gold from the theme added a little sparkle to everything. Windermere is a lovely old estate, but the dark wood beams/balcony, and lack of windows on the entire one side means that it needs some brightness. I also loved the flowers.

Advice for future brides & grooms: Be clear with your vision and have a realistic itinerary that everyone knows about. Ensure that all changes are communicated to your wedding party, parents/immediate family, and on-site coordinator. Also, schedule in enhanced margins of error for time. This might mean you get to enjoy your own cocktail hour, speak to all of your guests, or stay to the schedule. And, enjoy your day. It will fly by, and being stressed about little details isn’t worth it.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? I’d probably start things earlier and/or ensure the schedule was communicated better to all involved. We didn’t get a chance to eat any appetizers (there was some confusion about timing, which meant the awesome Ken Foster band got cut off too early), and then dinner service was slower than what we had discussed with the coordinator, which cut into dancing.

Best surprise of the day: The speeches! They were each surprisingly unique, and it meant a lot to have our friends and family speak for us so personally.

Anything else you'd like to add: Marry someone who will get you out of a hurricane!

Having a beautiful wedding at the family cottage? A million times YES! What a gorgeous setting for an outdoor ceremony. I love the portraits we captured just before sunset down by the lake. My quads still remember the steep hike back up the property for the reception too!
