Shooting a wedding in Sarnia was new territory for me, but I was absolutely thrilled with the amazing spots we found! Kristina & Brett were so laid back and I could tell from the start they 100% trusted me to capture their day which is the best attitude a bride & groom can have towards any of their vendors – trust! Looking back at these pictures I feel so happy remembering what a great day it was!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: simple elegance
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day? We have to say, overall the best part of the day was celebrating with our family and friends. We were so overwhelmed with gratitude for the love that everyone showed us on our special day. We will remember it always.
Bride: Walking down the isle with my dad, seeing my “soon-to-be” husband for the first time and solidifying what I already knew, that marrying him was the best decision I’ve made in my life. The late night dance party when everyone was having so much fun that we didn’t want the night to end.
Groom: Seeing my beautiful bride walk down the isle and being with all my friends and family.
Best wedding related decision: Getting a band. If you have the funds, get a band. They really make the night so fun and most guests will get up and dance.
Favourite detail: Our cake topper. My colleague, a plastic surgeon, made the cake topper of Brett and myself. Every detail on the cake topper is accurate, from my dress and earrings to Brett’s blue eyes. Being that Brett and I are both surgeons in training, she added a mayo stand with some surgical tools AND sterile green towels to “top” it off.
Advice for future brides & grooms: There is a limited budget for your wedding, choose your priorities wisely. A really good wedding photographer is priceless. Heather at HRM was absolutely phenomenal. She was very professional and facilitated the day to flow smoothly. HRM was worth every penny!
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Absolutely nothing. I can’t say I am one of those girls who always dreamed her wedding day would go down a certain way and maybe that’s why the day went so well. I can say with certainty that everything was perfect and in retrospect, I really would not have changed a thing.
Best surprise of the day: Our flower girl and cutest niece in the whole world, Ellie Roth, did a fantastic job walking down the isle at the young age of 2. She was so cute as she walked towards Brett holding her “here comes the bride” sign.
Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): Really tough question. There were a few. If we have to pick one, it’s 454 – Brett and I sitting on the bench in the park. This took place after the ceremony in the park. I think this picture really captures the happiness and love of a newly married couple.
Anything else you’d like to add: Our day wouldn’t have been so perfect without the hard work and effort from our family, friends, and vendors. I wish I could write a little bit about each one of them, but in summary, they were all excellent and I would highly recommend all of our vendors to future brides. We both work long hours and it was often difficult finding the time to meet with people, but everyone was so accommodating most of all, everyone come through for us and exceeded our expectations. There were literally no mishaps or confusion on the big day. The day was filled with love and happiness – it was epic!
