Meggin & Mat had a vision for their big day – for it to be very outdoorsy – safe to say mission accomplished! We had a great time photographing them in the Hertitage Forest and at the lovely Windermere Manor!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Wood, water and travel
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: After spending the morning with my favourite ladies, I got a bit nervous right before I was going to see Mat for the first time. As soon as we were together, the nerves went away…well until it was time to say my personalized vows and do a secret country choreographed dance routine for my new husband!
Groom: Having moved around quite a bit, my best friends and family are scattered three sheets to the wind. So having all of my favourite people together in one place was pretty damn cool. That, and the look on Meg’s face when we saw each other for the first time…..that’s something I’ll never forget.
Best wedding related decision: Once you find something you really like or love, book it and move on! Why keep looking for something that is already perfect? That’s when you get overwhelmed and/or stressed by all of the planning it takes to have a wedding.
Favourite detail: Our wedding party team! A great group of guys and girls wearing whatever they want, looking fantastic and driving the party!
Advice for future brides & grooms: Even if you see things that aren’t going quite the way that you had planned, don’t even acknowledge them. The goal of the day is to get married to the person that you love. If there are bumps during the day it doesn’t matter, it is still a success if that goal gets accomplished.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Not a thing. We got married: goal achieved!
Best surprise of the day: Meg’s family all wore beachy shirts in honour of her Dad and rocked the dance floor during a Beach Boys tribute tune!
Anything else you’d like to add: Heather from HRM Photography did an amazing job capturing our day! We wanted our photographs to reflect our outdoorsy nature and that’s exactly what we got! She was excited and up to the challenge when we said we wanted to get into a canoe that we put into a swimming pool and take off our shoes and socks and get right into the river.
