So much care, thought and amazing DIY craftiness went in to the preparations for Tasha and Derreck’s wedding and it was a pleasure to capture it all in photos. There were many highlights from the day but I think our evening rooftop photo shoot with the cinesphere in the background takes the cake!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Romantic, Elegant, Personal, Classy
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Seeing Derreck for the first time, I almost wanted to run down to him, and I kept being told to slow down lol, Putting on my dream dress, reading the vows he wrote me, that feeling of euphoria that this day has finally arrived!
Groom: Hearing Tasha’s vows, seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress, and she looked absolutely beautiful. Seeing the vision we had for our wedding come to life, it was incredible!
Best wedding related decision: There is quite a few! Trying to do as much as DIY as we humanly can in terms of decoration, and small things here and there, because seeing the things we had made around the room kept making us smile and realizing our hard work had paid off. Guest were coming up to us telling us how personal our wedding feels, which we absolutely loved. Our awesome photographer Lindsay Ross from HRM Photography, she was a pleasure to work with and I will continue recommending HRM to every single person! Our videographer Greg Idasz from AV Artisan was absolutely fantastic. Pictures and your wedding film is what is going to keep reminding us of our very special day, so we went with the best!
Favourite detail: the lit lanterns, our DIY centrepieces with pictures of us from all the places we had visited together, just reminds us how blessed and lucky we are to not only have each other but to go on so many adventures together.
Advice for future brides & grooms: Start DIY projects early and try to do as much as you can yourselves because it would mean that much more the day of the wedding. Do not sweat the small details, and do not stress the day of the wedding and enjoy it as much as you can. It will be one of the most happiest moments of your lives, and no one will notice the missing small details you were sweating about. Family and friends come to celebrate the love you share and that is all that matters.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Nothing! It was a dream come true for us
Best surprise of the day: Getting to read the vows in the drawing Derreck gave me.
Anything else you’d like to add: Research and splurge on things that matter the most in your wedding. For us it was photography and videography, and seeing the pictures (both engagement and wedding) we are so happy to have made the right choice with HRM photography! Both Heather (engagement) and Lindsay (wedding) are outstanding ladies, best in the photography industry, and have given us the gift of reliving our day through these pictures We will surely be going to HRM photography for any future photography needs.
