I was contacted to photograph this very intimate wedding day just a few short months before the event. I initially wasn’t even sure if it was a “real” inquiry (there’s a few wedding photography scams out there)…. after all, a Tuesday wedding in October isn’t very common! After a lovely first meeting with Aimée and her mom, I was delighted to be asked to be a part of Aimée and Marco’s small civil ceremony (it will be followed by a church wedding in Italy next September) with just their immediate families and one of the bride’s close friends present. Their outdoor ceremony took place at Aimée’s family cottage in Port Franks, overlooking the lake on a very windy autumn day. The timing was set just right to get some beautiful sunset shots at the beach. With just 9 guests including the bride and groom, this was one of the smallest weddings we’ve photographed but that just made it all the more special! I loved all the personal aspects & attention to detail put into the celebration… especially the sand ceremony, using sand from the beach in Port Franks as well as a beach in Italy where Marco is from! I only wish I could also photograph their wedding in Italy, but alas I was already booked!

Instead of exchanging rings, the couple exchanged ladybug pendants…
… which they both put on backwards!
