Sometimes the simplest wedding celebrations are also the most special + meaningful. Caryn & Kimberley contacted me via email from Australia to photograph their wedding in Toronto, I was happy to give them some location suggestions and was excited when they picked the rooftop of the Drake Hotel. On a beautiful October morning, these lovely ladies said their vows (vows that they sadly would not have been allowed to make in their home country) in front of happy family members and became legally married! We were so happy to be a part of their day and hope to see them again next time they’re in Canada! Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: intimate, fun and relaxed
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Kimberley: standing under the chuppah looking at Caryn. She took my breath away..I really had never understood that until then ..like I felt literally breathless. She looked so beautiful. We had just walked in together hand in hand to “Wedding Song” by Tracy Chapman. “I’ve been having dreams and visions in them you are always standing right beside me” and there was my soon to be wife standing right beside me..where she will stand for the rest of my life..it was overwhelming.
Best wedding related decision: without a doubt it was hiring Heather to photograph us. Our family and friends in Australia have been able to share in our day through the amazing photos taken. We look at the photos all the time and are still amazed by Heather’s talent and attention to detail.
Favourite detail: the personalized cupcakes.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? It would have been nice to have our family and friends from Australia but we were so fortunate to have our wonderful Canadian family sharing the day with us.
Best surprise of the day: how it all just fell into place…also Kimberley getting stung by a bee for the first time ever at the wedding (ok that probably wasn’t the best surprise).

This picture cracks me up – a total fluke! I was snapping away so quickly to get the streetcar in the shot and to me it looks George is so disappointed neither of these ladies chose him!
