Catherine and Kelvin planned a beautiful celebration of their marriage and no small detail was missed. There were some gloomy looking clouds as we drove away from the church, but thankfully we were greeted with gorgeous sunshine and light for the portraits following the ceremony! The Steamwhistle Brewery is such a fabulous venue for a wedding reception and was a great choice for Catherine & Kelvin to carry through their modern industrial theme (along with delicious food for their guests!) The love these two feel for each other was obvious and we were thrilled to be a part of their wedding day.

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Symbolic, God-honouring, Modern Industrial Wedding
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Having the reception food taste exactly like the tasting (and having a whole platter of hors d’oeuvres brought up to the bridal suite)!
Groom: Watching Cat walk down the aisle with her dad to one of my all-time favourite songs played by some of our all-time favourite friends
Best wedding related decision: Having pre-marital counselling with our amazing pastor
Favourite detail: Our balloon themed guest book with a cartoon of us drawn by our lovely friend from Ithaca, NY
Advice for future brides & grooms: Don’t let wedding planning replace quality time with each other.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? No way!
Best surprise of the day: The sunshine after the storm just as we arrived at our reception at Steamwhistle
Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): 770. For her maid of honour speech, Cat’s sister wrote a song and made a stop-motion video. Here, Lindsay got a shot of us sitting back and watching Claire’s creation. We love that Lindsay made the effort to capture us just enjoying all the little moments throughout the day.
Anything else you’d like to add: For those of you who are reading this and are in the midst of your wedding planning process, don’t forget to enjoy the journey!
