This wedding was the perfect garden party! Claude and Jason’s wedding took place at the most amazing property and we had incredible weather. Add in an adorable couple and I was in a wedding paradise! I hadn’t met the bride and groom before their big day, but just from our phone conversations leading up to it I knew we were going to have a great time with them. The decor and centerpieces were simply beautiful, all of them were images taken by Jason when on vacation with Claude over their relationhship. Knowing that Jason was such an awesome photographer himself, the pressure was on to step it up a notch for their pictures. I had just finished a workshop with amazing wedding photographer Sam Hurd a week before so I had some new and fresh ideas buzzing in my head to try out. Thanks to Claude and Jason for letting me have fun and experiment with some new techniques – I’m sure you’ll agree the results were stunning.

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: The musical “reading” during the ceremony (Wildflowers by Tom Petty) and the Celtic stone symbol during the ceremony
Groom: Friends playing in an impromptu cover band “The Wedding Crashers”
Best wedding related decision: To have an outdoor wedding despite the risk
Favourite detail: Using framed photographs of the places we have travelled together as a legend for the tables instead of table numbers
Advice for future brides & grooms: The day goes very quickly so try to stay in the moment
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Anticipate that the schedule falls behind so leave plenty of flexibility
Best surprise of the day: Beautiful weather!
Anything else you’d like to add: Niki was great at experimenting with her photos and went out of her way to photograph the wedding party with their own partners and friend groups, which was very much appreciated.
