I was very excited when Debi and Tyler asked me to photograph their wedding day as Tyler and his family have quite a history with my partner Matt and his family. Tyler and Matt grew up together in Ottawa and shared lots of great memories (most of them involving music and hockey). I have gotten to know Tyler’s family quite well over the years with parties, family portraits and other social events. I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Debi’s family until the wedding day, but we hit it off right away!
Debi and Tyler had an amazing wedding in the Muskokas. To start the day off, we met up with Tyler and his family at a cottage for some great photos before making our way down the road to Debi’s family cottage. I have never had so much fun taking family photos. I could tell we were in for a good day!
Just before the ceremony, I sent Niki off on a golf cart to meet Debi, her parents and bridesmaids as they were traveling to the ceremony site by boat! The beautiful outdoor ceremony was full of laughter and tears (including the groom!). And after some photos with the wedding party, it was on to the music themed reception.

I love this photo of Debi and her siblings. It was such a great personal touch to have her family photos taken at the cottage.
Debi’s Dad drove the girls to the ceremony…very slowly so as not to ruin their hair!
Niki took this great photo of Debi crossing the highway to get to her Groom!
A very emotional groom…
A Macedonian wedding tradition…whoever gets the bigger piece of the bread is said to be the ruler of the household. Debi ended up with about 3/4 of the bread and nobody was surprised! Way to go Debi!
