Erin and Jeff had their wedding at the lovely Windermere Manor. They put so much thought and details into their planning when it came to their “Recipe for Love” theme. They had a giant fork & spoon at their head table and also some of the favourite recipes to share with their loved ones! Congrats Erin and Jeff!
Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Elegant, Traditional, Personal
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: “Walking down the aisle towards Jeff, saying my vows to Jeff and seeing all of our friends watching us from the balcony during our first dance.
Groom: “Looking into my beautiful brides’ eyes as we said our vows”
Best wedding related decision: We had a theme for our wedding, Recipe for Love, and this theme helped us to define our space. We also hired good vendors who are familiar with the space and who knew how to make things work to our advantage!
Favourite detail: We cannot just name one! We loved our flowers—they were so big and bright and they really help to define the space. We loved having Rheo Thompson Chocolate Mint Smoothies available to everyone as they entered the space because they are our favourite treat and we loved our huge fork and spoon decorations because they really represented the theme of our wedding and our love of cooking.
Advice for future brides & grooms: Wedding planning is stressful! Make sure that the bride and groom are on the same page and any other comments from parents or friends are simply that—comments. Also, try to limit your engagement to 12 months. Our engagement was 16 months long and it left a lot of time to rethink solid ideas.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? If I could change anything, I would skip the Rehearsal Dinner the night before the Wedding. There is enough stress already without having to figure out additional planning and costs.
Best surprise of the day: The weather was perfect!
