When I first meet Geneviève + Will I knew that I wanted to be a part of their wedding day! When they told me that they were transforming the Heemans greenhouse into wedding reception location I knew it was going to look spectacular. There vision was lots and lots of new york lights to bring the light into the greenshouse, I would say they nailed it! It was such a great day – lots of sunshine and lots of love! They also had a vision for night time photos with all the lights in the greehouse – it was my mission to make it happen. All the planning and prep work came together and all the hard work definity showed for the first ever wedding held at this location. Congrats Geneviève & Will – it was such a pleasure capturing the day for you both!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Rustic charm meets city chic.
What are you favourite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Watching sunset during the reception case into the greenhouse and the transformation.
Groom: When church doors opened and Genevieve and her father walked in with rays of sun radiating all around her. I just remember mouthing the word ‘wow’.
Best wedding related decision: Choosing to host our ceremony in the greenhouse at Heeman’s was a highlight. It was the first time hosting a wedding reception in the venue and it turned out amazing. Just awe inspiring for our guests, couldn’t have turned out better. Also, having a couple guests capture footage of the ceremony, walk in and speeches. Having that has been awesome and re-watching the video brings us back every time.
Favourite detail: The greenhouse and all the lights. The reception location was special as it was totally unique to us as a couple and as a venue. As the night wore on the beauty of the thousands of lights became more pronounced even more amazing.
Advice for future brides & grooms: Create a 72 hour game plan laying out every hour of the 2 days leading up and the day of the wedding itself. Having everyone involved know exactly where they needed to be at what time and how everyone was getting there as so helpful during those days. Planning it out and having it written down eased so much stress beforehand in not having to worry about those things.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? We feel blessed that we can truly say our wedding day was like a fairy tale and was easily the most magical, special and best day of our lives. We wouldn’t change a thing and loved every second of the day.
Best surprise of the day: How much fun everyone had dancing and partying the night away. Most of our guests never left the dance floor and when it came time to call it a night we kept things going for an extra hour. We just had a blast!
Favourite HRM picture from the day (and why?): Easily the shot of the two of us kissing under thousands of lights and our guests dancing behind us. When we met with Niki, we told her we wanted a shot like that and she captured it perfectly!
