What’s not to love when you have a wedding nestled at a resort in the Muskokas and a cute couple with an eye for amazing yellow details?! The pesky rain may have moved the ceremony away from the dock, but immediately following their vows I made sure to ask Jennifer and Ryan if they still wanted to go for that group photo…they said yes and we started a processional of all of their wonderful obliging guests down for the photo (thanks!)

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Family, Fun, Fresh, Relaxed and Simple.

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Seeing the look on Ryan’s face, and having him steal a kiss once we were together for our vows, dancing all night with family & friends, playing flip cup at the reception, and despite the rain still getting everyone on the dock for a group photo!
Groom:getting the ceremony started

Best wedding related decision: The Delta Rocky Crest as our venue site. It was everything we wanted our wedding to be. We wanted a smaller, more intimate wedding, a relaxing weekend away for our friends and family. We love the outdoors and the fall and it was where we felt the most ” us”. The staff were wonderful, the dinner was delish, and it was a good balance of cottage feel with hotel amenities. Also adding in the wine box ceremony into our vows. I love the idea of sharing a bottle of wine on our 5th anniversary and reading the letters we’ve sealed in the box, written on our wedding day. I can only imagine where and what we will be up to in 5 years, but I know reflecting back on one of the happiest days of our lives will be worth that wait for that bottle of wine! And lastly, making the day about us!

Favourite detail:
Bride: The yellow details, my shoes, the bridesmaid sun glasses, the lemons on the tables and Ryan’s cousin Anton playing our processional music to prerecorded music of his grandfather…. every detail we included had a very special meaning to us and our relationship and values as a couple.
Groom: Guinness cufflinks that Jen got for me as a wedding present. I’m a big Guinness fan. Our cat’s name is Guinness

Advice for future brides & grooms: Don’t sweat the details. No one will remember the centerpieces, but everyone will remember the unhappy bride fussing over the centerpieces if they weren’t “perfect”. Don’t freak out on the wedding day if every little detail isn’t done. The day is going to go on whether you are ready for it or not

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? I would have started getting ready earlier! I’m a procrastinator and I thought I had LOTS of time.
I would have actually had more of the food that was there. I hardly got to have anything!

Best surprise of the day: Since we planned it, there weren’t any surprises…. but we had my dance with my mom to her wedding song…. she was surprised and it made her cry
