Quite a few years ago, Heather and I photographed a very memorable wedding together (we heart you Cara & Dave!) which lead us to this adorable couple! I learned through chatting with Jess and Michael that they love to walk through their neighbourhood and take advantage of local restaurants and shops. They planned a wedding that allowed them to walk from their home to ceremony, dinner and reception hand in hand making the most of their day together. This was an amazing day that we were so happy to be a part of.

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: Eclectic, Colourful, Creative, Personal, Fun
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: First look, exchanging the rings and how fun our ceremony was.
Groom: First look and first dance
Best wedding related decision: Doing our own thing and not worrying about “what we’re supposed do”. We went with our gut. If something felt right then we went with it; if we second guessed a decision or choice then we didn’t do it.
Favourite detail: There are so many it’s difficult to choose.
Advice for future brides & grooms: Remember why you’re getting married and all that matters at the end of the day is that the bride, groom & officiant/minister shows up, the rest is all gravy.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? No.
Best surprise of the day: The gust of wind that came right after the exchanging of the rings from the direction of Mike’s dad’s picture. It was so comforting and we knew he was with us.
Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): Mike’s expression from our First Look. It captures the emotion we felt & brings a happy tear to my eye when I look at the picture.
Anything else you’d like to add: Have lots of fun. Looking back, we laughed a lot throughout the day.
