High school sweethearts Katie & Kyle had an elegant wedding at the Old Courthouse in London. The decor & flowers from Designs in Bloom were absolutely stunning! What a beautiful wedding day!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: vintage, airy, upscale garden party
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: My favourite moment of the day has to be when Kyle and I sneaked back into the church with Heather to grab a few extra photos. Having the church empty, aside from us, and just soaking in the fact that we just made such huge promises to one another – it was so special.
Groom: My favourite moment was definitely the ceremony and seeing Katie coming down the aisle.
Best wedding related decision: Originally we had really wanted a very small guest list, and to go away somewhere with only immediate family. We’re so glad that we decided to have more of a traditional wedding, and to invite all of our closest friends and family, since the day just wouldn’t have been the same without everyone there. We think we would have regretted our original plan in the long run, and we really can’t imagine our wedding any other way than the way that it went. It was perfect.
Favourite detail: The floral arrangements. By far. They were better than we could have ever imagined, and completely “made” the day. We received so many compliments on them and couldn’t have been happier. (Flowers by Designs in Bloom)
Advice for future brides & grooms:
From Katie & Kyle -> Remember to take time and make sure that you spend as many moments alone with each other as you can. Of course it’s important to spend time with your guests and your bridal party, but this is one of the most special days of your lives. We made sure that we stepped aside and shared our thoughts, or even just took a quiet moment to look at everything and take mental pictures, and we are so glad that we’ll have those memories forever.
From Katie -> Eat! It can be so, so easy to get wrapped up in your schedule (and if you’re anything like myself, you had the day mapped out on a 30 minute-interval time line). Don’t forget to stay hydrated, and eat! It’s no fun running on an empty stomach, and a lot of effort goes into planning the meal – so why should you miss out?
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? We’ve thought about this question long and hard – and can honestly say that we wouldn’t change anything. Even when it started raining during the reception, it didn’t begin until we had all entered the reception hall. Everything worked out perfectly, and the day truly seemed like it was meant to be.
Best surprise of the day: There were two. The moment that we walked into the reception hall, and saw that everything was just as we had imagined it, was definitely one of the best surprises of the day. You have this image in your head of what your wedding will look like, but to see it right in front of you and completely perfect, is a whole other thing. It was amazing!
The second surprise of the day was when my dad gave this “thank you” speech. I didn’t think that it was going to be as emotional as it was, and couldn’t help but start to cry. It was so surprising to see my dad get choked up!
Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): I don’t even know why, but I am in LOVE with the photo of us sharing a kiss on the dance floor. It looks as if no one else is there, and it’s just us. It was taken right at the end of our first dance, and just gives me such a good feeling. It reminds me of how amazing the day was.
