I have known Kristie for quite a few years as she worked at the Delta Armories and now the Lamplighter, two great wedding venues in London, Ontario. I was absolutely thrilled when she asked me to be the photographer for her big day! Kristie is a beautiful girl inside and out – so much fun to be around and Ryan is definitely the perfect match for her! Being that Kristie has been in the wedding industry for many years I knew that her big day would be perfectly planned & absolutely beautiful. I was a little worried when the forecast was calling for thunderstorms all day, very happy when they didn’t happened and pinch myself excited when the bride & groom agreed to go outside in an absolutely torrential downpour to capture the epic rain photo that you’ll see below!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less:
Fun, personalized, vintage, romantic, party!
What are your favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Probably just simply walking down the aisle to Ryan. I suddenly felt completely relaxed and just eager to get the show on the road! That’s when you think, “hey this is really happening!” It’s nice to look out at your family and friends and see them all so happy and excited to be there. Our Officiant was amazing and did an exceptional job of putting me at ease and creating a fun, personal and unique ceremony.
Groom: two things only. 1) I got to marry the love of my life! and 2) Everything else to do with the day. Sooooooo many memories. They were all my favourite.
Best wedding related decision: Photo booth! Our guest’s had an absolute blast with it and it was an awesome way for us to capture the candid and fun moments of the day. The photos will make awesome keepsakes!
Favourite detail: This is tough because I LOVED everything! Our floral was awesome; Patsy selected beautiful flowers that really set everything off. I also loved my Fascinator and Jewelry – it was different and very “me”. Oh yes and our ceremony music; a family member played selected Beatles songs on the piano. It really added to the ambiance of the whole ceremony.
Advice for future brides & grooms: ENJOY IT! This is going to be the most fun and amazing day of your life. Take the time to breathe and take it all in; you won’t get another shot at it! One other point; be sure to consider your guests. If they are entertained, comfortable and having fun it will make the entire ambiance of the day/evening. Make sure they are considered in all your decisions and that you are excellent hosts. Also, choose your vendors wisely – if you work with great people, you will get great results.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Nope!
Best surprise of the day: When the bridal party switched outfits. We were SHOCKED and haven’t laughed that hard before or since! For such an organized bride, it was completely unexpected and HILARIOUS. It really showed the fun and great people we had standing up with us.
Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?): Has to be the shot in the rain that was taken at the end of the night. AMAZING. It captured everything that we wanted for the day; romantic, vintage and risky — and it’s now a piece of art that we can proudly display in our home.
Anything else you’d like to add:
THANK YOU to all who attended and to all of the vendors who were so awesome to work with. Our day was better than we expected and we are so excited to move on to the next phase and plan even more parties!
