Lee-Ann & Ryan

Distillery District Wedding

Lee-Ann and Ryan planned a wedding that celebrated their relationship perfectly. A lovely intimate ceremony & dinner with 15 of their closest family members followed by a big loud dance party reception! Weddings are all about the Bride and Groom and should reflect their personalities…which this did perfectly. I was well aware of how nervous the bride was about photos and made sure to blend in to the background as much as possible.

It was also great to work with Jeremy Citron again for the first time since he was the officiant at my wedding last year!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less: simple and fun

What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: I really loved every part of the ceremony. It was simple and sweet. I remember being so nervous and excited I was squeezing Ryan's hands to keep from bouncing around as we were saying our vows.
Groom: For me it was seeing Lee Ann for the first time at the hotel. We hadn't seen each other in two days and I was really looking forward to it. She looked incredible.

Best wedding related decision:
Choosing our friend Lester and his band Grooveyard to play our wedding. Absolutely amazing. It's great to have talented friends!

Favourite detail: we made up some foam moustaches and accessories for people to play with hoping it would help some camera-shy guests get into some more pictures. in the end it became a really fun touch and made for some awesome photos.

Advice for future brides & grooms: bring a pair of comfortable shoes for dancing!

Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? probably eat more and worry less.

Best surprise of the day: I had made up some posters as props for our thank you speech. Ryan decided to take a crack at it himself and painted a “beautiful” portrait of me as he said some really sweet words. it was the perfect mix of comedy and sweetness!

Anything else you'd like to add: Thank you Lindsay and Niki for everything. You had great suggestions, were incredibly easy to work with and the photos are wonderful!

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?):
My favourite is the one where Ryan has turned around to see me for the first time. The expression on his face brings me back to that moment. I can hear his voice just looking at it. (below)

Favorite HRM picture from the day (and why?):Ryan's favourite picture is the one of us “re-enacting” the Alfred Eisenstadt photo. It was a photo we always really loved and when Lindsay suggested we try it we were thrilled. (below right)
