We loved being a part of Mallory & Will’s beautiful wedding at the St Thomas Train Station! They were such a fun group and we had so many beautiful locations for photos!

What are your favourite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: One of my favourites happened just before we headed into the church. I was sitting in the limo, listening to a favourite song. The anticipation was just so warm, peaceful and beautiful. Having the women that meant so much to me sitting beside me, looking out the window and trying to catch a glimpse of Will (against orders), it was magical.
Another was when I was walking down the aisle with my father. I stopped to kiss my mother, turned the corner, and that was when I could first see Will. He looked comfortable and so very happy.
My sister is an absolute champion. She was my matron of honour and is my best friend. On the day of our wedding she was already two days overdue. I remember when Heather was snapping pictures at the park and she asked us to go just a little further up a hill. I heard moans from the men, but little from the ladies (some in heels). She made it through the whole day and danced the night away. I know it would not have been the same without her right by my side.
The day was amazing. We are still trying to digest it all! Our ceremony was perfect, seeing family, toasting with the wedding party and letting off some steam on our way to have photos taken at the park. Dancing with my new husband, seeing him with his best friends, being silly and having a blast with guests. I wish I could hit rewind!
Groom: One of my favourite memories was hanging out with my groomsmen the days and hours before the wedding. I haven’t seen them in years, so it was nice joking around and reminiscing about growing up together in our small home town. It helped ease the tension, and calm my nerves.
Another one of my favourite memories was seeing my beautiful bride for the first time. I was beyond excited and couldn’t stop smiling when I first saw her walking down the aisle. She looked like she was glowing.
I also have fond memories of enjoying the evening with my family and friends. Something that meant so much to Mallory and I, to be able to dance, laugh, and act silly with the people we love. It was the perfect end to such an amazing day.
Best wedding related decision: Working with Heather and her team. As of this very moment, we have not even seen the photos yet, but we already know that it was the best decision that we could have ever made. She is so talent and made us feel so comfortable. Heather was an advocate for us. Our voice. Heather knew how important certain things were to us (e.g., going to a green space to have photos done during a very short break). She helped keep things moving, kept us on track, and was positive and fun throughout it all (even though it was very warm and she was/is pregnant!).
Favourite details: The song that we danced to first as husband and wife was not a traditional first dance song. We almost changed it many times because we thought that many would have felt it was out of place. We are so glad that we stuck with something that meant so much to us, even if it was a little cheesy!
We went with a traditional monogram that was free from a website that we absolutely loved. We put it on many items and it really helped pull things together for us. Blank space? Put a monogram! Wine labels? Monogram! Programs? Monogram!
Advice for future brides & grooms: Be yourself. When your in the planning stages, and flipping through magazines, it is easy to feel a little down because you don’t look like the featured couples, or don’t have the same grand budget. What should be a priority is your relationship with your partner. Feel confident in your own uniqueness/beauty, and know that your family and friends just want to wish you luck! If you are inviting the right people to your wedding, they should not mind if the chicken is a little heavily breaded. Figure out what matters most to you (for us it was photography) and see if you can create other things that help with your vision (e.g., programs, signage, flower arrangements).
What would you change if you could do it all over again?:We kind of feel like everyone would say this, but, it is so important to try to enjoy it. We were pretty rattled on Friday, setting two locations up, trying to have our vision come to life, it was stressful! We felt so bad for our Reverend because she was ready to rehearse at the church and the men were stuck in London coming back from getting the suits. I (Mallory) am the type that wants to do things myself. Looking back, I wish that I had let go a little more, and that we had hired someone to help with the setup during the day before and as a go to the day of.
Best surprise of the day:We were surprised/relieved that it all came together! The day went so smoothly! We were on schedule! Our guest absolutely loved the candy table and photo booth. We loved how many people were still dancing machines so late into the evening. Prior to the wedding day, we were surprised and blessed by how many people came a great distance to celebrate with us. Our groomsman from Vancouver, BC and Lethbridge, AB. Other family and friends from California and Northern Ontario. Everyone came to celebrate with us. Absolutly amazing!
