Somewhere in their planning, Roxanne and Scott looked at each other and decided “this big wedding thing just isn’t “us”‘. So, they changed their original plans and focused on having a small and meaningful celebration with their families. I always love intimate weddings such as this one – it seems like even more of an honour to be invited to document an event that is so private. There were many beautiful moments that happened on this day: my favorites being the reading Roxanne’s Granny gave, and an impromptu visit to their house during the photo session so we could get their dog in some photos!

Describe the vision/theme you had for your wedding in 5 words or less:
Romantic and intimate celebration of our love
What are you favorite memories of your wedding day?
Bride: Our first dance with the band playing and Scott singing into my ear as we danced.
Groom: Seeing Rox for the first time.
Best wedding related decision: Keep it small and have photos taken before the ceremony
Favourite detail: We had a thumbprint tree for our guests to fill at the wedding and now it’s hung up in our dining room.
Advice for future brides & grooms: Make your wedding about the two of you and the love and commitment you share.
Would you change anything if you could do it all over again? Nothing
Best surprise of the day: That it was such a warm March so we could take advantage of the beautiful cherry blossoms that were out.
